Sammy

-I have no idea where she got the idea…but lately when we go on a walk, Sammy will stick her finger into the leaves, into our neighbors flower bed, into the grass… swirl her finger around a few times and then stick her finger in her mouth to quickly lick it off.  I know… gross, but it’s actually really funny!  The other day she reached her finger into the sky, gave it a swirl and then a good lick. Ha!

-Now Sammy is running…but a few weeks ago when she was still getting the hang of walking, she would pace the room.  She would go back and forth from one end to another…not really doing much along the way except talking to herself and occasionally getting really excited.  It was super cute to watch her face light up the faster and faster she went.

-The other week Sammy walked across the room, climbed up onto my lap and nuzzled her face into my chest.  My heart melted into a million pieces.  She only stayed for 10 seconds, but she is doing it more and more these days!  It gives me hope that she will one day like to sit and snuggle for just a few minutes…then she can go back to climbing and running and never tiring out.

-When Matty walks in the door…oh, it’s perfection!  Sammy looks up with bright eyes and whispers softly to herself “Dada.”  She then goes and takes his hand and proceeds to show him everything she has played with while he was gone ( or at least I think that is what she is doing).  And between her excitement that he is finally home and him throwing balls, crawling around on the floor, and chasing her about the room…Sammy is soon beside herself in laughter…I mean she can barely walk or crawl.

This family is so dear to my heart.  Their kindness and love constantly overflows to everyone they meet.

Baby Judson…you are so small right now, but I know that like your brother you are going to have a warrior spirit.  You will take on wild adventures and conquer giants!

Sometimes it is just too hard to pick… and today that was the case.  Every time these parents looked down at their little Annie, my heart exploded.  And then Charley (who just turned 2) put her little hands in his little hands and I almost lost it…it was just so precious.  He sat their touching her toes and holding each tiny finger in his… I am going to stop talking and let you just see what happened.

If you are a joyful cryer…you might need a tissue or two.

Yesterday we had a little Mommy daughter lunch date.  And it was delicious! We stopped at a little place called Vicki Lee’s  and ordered the bacon gruyere quiche with fruit.  Sammy thought it was pretty awesome not having to sit in a highchair.  I thought it was just a little challenging as she stood up to wave at everyone who came in for lunch, but didn’t really mind all that much…probably because I was so distracted at her being adorable.  She loved her big girl cup with a straw :)  After each sip she would look up with eyes that said, ” Mommy this is the coolest thing ever.”

Here are a few pics…according to my iPhone.

At first Sammy thought her Halloween outfit was fascinating…especially the tights.  But then I zipped it up and all she wanted was out.  She pulled and tugged at the bubble butt, the cutest part of every baby costume.  I was able to distract her, for the most part with her tiny trick or treat pail (which she absolutely loved carrying up and down the street).

Upper crust was there handing out slices of pizza alongside Foodies with apples, pretzels and oatmeal cookies…MMmm. I wish I had more pictures of the crowds of children dressed up, juggling clowns, and parade of costumes but Matt hadn’t arrived yet and Sammy wasn’t so sure about the whole thing.  Normally she loves crowds, but this time she stood really close and just stared at each costume going by.  She did get excited though and gave a little woof woof call to all of the costumed dogs that passed by her.Halloween-in-boston-with-toddler-6Halloween-in-boston-with-toddler-1halloweenHalloween-in-boston-with-toddlerDaddy joined us at the tail end of the party just in time to trick or treat.  At first Sammy walked up and stared at the adults handing out candy.  She wasn’t quite sure what she was supposed to do.  But by the end she walked up to our last stop hand outstretched ready to plunk the candy into her pail.  Halloween-in-boston-with-toddler-5
