The day I met you…

snowflakes gently fell outside, the dogs watched you through the window, and you… you wanted to explore this new world.  Peacefully you watched until your eyelids tired and you fell into your dreams.

Knit by his mommy!  So cute!

Sleeping next to mommy’s childhood Paddington Bear.

In his daddy’s arms.

I held you just yesterday.  You slept tucked in a warm blanket as I listened to your mommy tell your birth story.  She was tired, but joy radiated from her as she looked down at you.  Now you are six months old and the way she looks at you has only increased in love.  You are now giggling like crazy, rolling over onto your belly, and almost sitting!  Your eyelashes… they are longer and every girl is going to be jealous. Your eyes…bigger.  And you have confirmed that I need to workout my arms because you are definitely heavier.

It was the way he looked up at his mommy and daddy and the way they looked back that made time stand still and a tear come to my eye.  He was here and he was in their hands…their first gift from heaven.  I could hear baby Andrew say, ” Guess how much I love you…right up to the moon.”  I could hear them say, ” I love you right up to the moon and back.”

Five tiny fingers wrapped around his mother’s rattle.
